Antenna tuner SPert1200

AT SPert1200 is designed to cooperate mainly with SPert1200 amplifier. Its task is to ensure proper impedance (as close as possible to 50 ohm) between the amplifier and the antenna. Most of multi-band, compromise antennas do not provide 50 ohm impedance across the entire width of individual sub-bands, which results in inability to work with transistor amplifier or necessity of significant reduction of output power.

About this amplifier

AT SPert1200 is designed to cooperate mainly with SPert1200 amplifier. Its task is to ensure proper impedance (as close as possible to 50 ohm) between the amplifier and the antenna. Most of multi-band, compromise antennas do not provide 50 ohm impedance across the entire width of individual sub-bands, which results in inability to work with transistor amplifier or necessity of significant reduction of output power.

Maximum limiting of reflected power between amplifier's output and the antenna has positive influence on its proper work, causes much lower heating of the transistor than in the case of work with poorly matched antenna, enables full power operation in the whole width of amateur bands.
The AT SPert1200 additionally has an antenna switch for 3 antennas, controlled from the front panel by a manual switch.

All LEDs flash three times when the ATU is turned on - correct initialization of the processor.

The ATU parameters are indicated by three LEDs in yellow, red and green.

Yellow LED - flashing three times means the control power is too low or too high.

Red LED - if this LED comes on after an attempt to tune the ATU, it indicates that the ATU is not properly tuned.

Green LED - its lighting after an ATU alignment attempt indicates proper alignment.

All LEDs flash three times after an attempt to align the ATU - too high SWR level (over 1:4).
