SPert2000+ CYCLONE

The transistor amplifier "SPert2000+CYCLONE" is a linear amplifier designed for work in amateur radio-communication systems, on all KF bands, with all emissions, in the range from 1.5 to 30 MHz and 50 MHz. It uses highly efficient and silent cooling with heat pipes (copper tubes containing liquid with very low evaporation temperature inside), very efficiently transferring heat to aluminium heat sinks, blown by four 120×120 mm fans.

The transistor amplifier "SPert2000+CYCLONE" is a linear amplifier designed for work in amateur radio-communication systems, on all KF bands, with all emissions, in the range from 1.5 to 30 MHz and 50 MHz. It uses highly efficient and silent cooling with heat pipes (copper tubes containing liquid with very low evaporation temperature inside), very efficiently transferring heat to aluminium heat sinks, blown by four 120×120 mm fans.
They are made in a compact metal housing, containing such basic modules as:

  • Two power amplifier boards based on the LDMOS BLF188XR 1400W transistor. As an option, two BLF188XR can be mounted on each amplifier board.
  • A board of seven seven-element low-pass filters.
  • Incident and reflected power measurement circuits with protection system against mismatch or missing antenna connection. An additional measuring circuit before the LPF filters prevents transistor damage due to possible filter damage.
    A circuit for decoding bands from a TRX:
    • in BCD code (Yaesu, Elecraft and others)
    • voltage for ICOM
    • voltage for FT-817
    • CAT decoder for Kenwood
    • OTRSP protocol,
    • manual band switching.
  • Ventilation system with PWM controller in four user-selectable modes:
    • 50% on transmit, on receive depending on temperature
    • maximum on transmit, on receive depending on temperature
    • Hysteresis - transmission and reception speed depending on the temperature. The rotation speed rises linearly from 40 degrees C, when cooling down it keeps the maximum value it reached until cooling down to 40 degrees C.
    • Constant maximum speed - both receiving and transmitting
  • Microprocessor based amplifier controller with color LED display and rotary encoder, for setting all amplifier parameters, made in an external casing, connected to the main amplifier module with a 25 pin cable.
  • USB connection for control and parameter monitoring via PC.
  • Commutation system.
  • A 53.5V 56A switching power supply inside the amplifier.
